FAQs

  • Known scientifically as Nepeta cataria catnip is a member of the mint family.
It stimulates many cats in a variety of different ways.
From encouraging play & relaxation to reducing stress & anxiety for our fury friends.

It even affects big cats like lions and tigers too.

  • The short answer is fun.

But there’s so much more to it.

It can be used for training, providing the perfect reward for scratching the post and not your sofa or for finally sleeping in that expensive cat bed .

It can help the laziest kittys get some exercise by making toys more intriguing.

For stressed and anxious cats, it even can provide a sense of relief and have a positive impact on their mental health.

  • Around 30% of cats don’t respond to catnip. Meaning around 70% do!

The reason for this is believed to be genetics, which means that those unfortunate kitty’s won’t learn to love it eventually.

If you’re cat’s in this minority and you’ve ordered from us, as a cat-lover, we ask you to find a fellow cat parent and pass on the joy of Roll Play Catnip for their kitty to enjoy.

  • On average catnip lasts between 10 and 30 minutes depending on your cat and the quantity of catnip.

  • Although it isn’t harmful for kittens, most won’t react to catnip until they are 6 months to 1 year old.

In fact, many cats become more sensitive to it as they age.

  • Cats are more than happy to ingest catnip. In fact, evidence suggests that it may be good for their digestive tract.

Despite that, catnip is a treat and shouldn’t be given in large quantities. As with any treat, ingesting large amounts of catnip can cause tummy upset.

  • We were fed up only being able to purchase cat treats in plastic packaging so, starting with catnip, we decided to make our own.

Catnip looses its potency when exposed to air and light. Unlike plastic pouches with clear windows our tins prevent both of these.

They’re also reusable for human treats, herbs, bathroom products or anything else you can think of.

AND most importantly the metal used will recycle forever without degrading.

  • That’s not really a question but we’ll let you off.
I guess you’ve noticed the seal on our tins?
Despite looking very plastic-like, these are actually made from a NatureflexTM Film and are 100% Biodegradable typically returning to nature within 1 year.
